The way to your application photos

1. Book photoshoot

Book your application photo shoot online now and choose the shoot date yourself. The online booking must be made 24 hours before the appointment.

2. Preparation

What is absolutely advantageous: Come with two different outfits to change into and try out. Choose clothes that you would also wear to the interview. Do you need to go to the hairdresser or make-up artist before the photo shoot? This can also be an advantage, but is of course not a must. Would you like professional styling for the shoot? Let us know when you book, we have a professional make-up artist in the team who will take care of your look.

3. The photoshoot

We use the first few minutes of the shoot to chat a little. It is important for us to know a little about you, what job position you are aiming for and what professional environment you work in. We also discuss the outfits and photo backgrounds and go into detail about your wishes and ideas for the application photos. During the shoot, we communicate actively and you receive instructions from us regarding facial expressions and posture. We take photos in different poses and settings so that we have a comprehensive set to choose from.

4. Photo selection

After the shoot, we take enough time to work with you to select the perfect photos for your application. Would you like to choose the photos yourself from the comfort of your own home? No problem, in this case we provide you with the photos in an online gallery and you simply send us your selection. The selected photos are professionally edited and enhanced by us. Skin blemishes and shiny spots on the skin are removed.

5. Payment

Payment is made after the photo shoot. Pay in cash or contactless via Maestro Card / Visa / ApplePay.

6. Photo Delivery

We usually send the digital application photos on the same day - but within 24 hours at the latest. You will receive the edited and optimized photos by e-mail as a download link. The photos are supplied in two versions: one in high print resolution and one for use on the web.

How does a shoot at Martin Jordan Photography work?

After making an appointment (by email or phone), we will take enough time for the shoot and discuss the photos/motifs/wishes with you, how you imagine the photos and how they suit you. We ask you to think about the pictures in advance of the shoot. Please don't forget to think about your outfit.

We use the first few minutes of the shoot to get to know each other a little. It's important for us to know a little about you, as we want to show you authentically and naturally, so a good rapport with you is an advantage. Before the shoot, we discuss the outfits and photo backgrounds and go into detail about your wishes and ideas. Good communication is also significant to us during the shoot, so together we try to realize your photo wishes professionally.

After the photo shoot, you will receive a selection of the best photos in an online gallery and you can view and select your photos from the comfort of your own home. We will make the selected photos available to you digitally via download.

May I use the photos for my website or for job platforms such as Xing?

No. The application photos are purely for private use on your CV. Do you also need the photos for use on job platforms and for your workplace? Then we can offer you business photos with commercial usage rights. You can find our packages here: Business Headshots

What should I wear to the photo shoot?

It is important that you are yourself in the photos. So choose outfits that you love and feel comfortable in.
It is very important to think about what is the right outfit for the job you are applying for. Look around on the Internet to see what options are available and what suits you. You can also contact us in advance and we can discuss your choice of clothes before the shoot.
Avoid bright and gaudy colors as well as very shiny clothes.
If we are taking the application photo outdoors, it is advisable to pay attention to clothes with monotonous colors, these are easily visible on the irregular background.
Think about the purpose of the photos and match your outfit to them!

Where does the application photo shoot take place?

We have two locations to choose from. Either we do the photo shoot in my studio (you can find the address under Contact) or outdoors in a park or in an urban environment in Vienna.

Do you live outside Vienna and want us to take your application photos for you? No problem, we will make you a suitable offer depending on the distance.

What should I bring to the shoot?

It is important that you come relaxed and in a good mood. The photo shoot can be quite strenuous, so please bring something to drink if we are taking photos outdoors (drinks are of course available in our photo studio). If we are outdoors, please check the weather forecast and bring appropriate clothing.

Will my photos be posted on the Internet?

No! As a matter of principle, we do not publish any pictures on the Internet without the consent of our customers. If we are particularly satisfied with the application photos from the shoot, we will of course ask and show our appreciation.

Can I take other people with me to the shoot?

Basically very happy. There just shouldn't be too many people.

I have blemishes on my face, will they be retouched?

Naturally! Every photo you choose after the shoot is professionally retouched. Skin blemishes, scratches, dark circles, etc. are removed or toned down. In addition, the photos are optimized in the image section, the look and with effects.

Can I also receive my photos in a special look?

Sure, just let us know. Looks such as vintage, sepia, or black and white conversion are possible at any time. You can also order the same photo in several looks (plus €5,- per look)

How do I know which poses to do?

Many people have never done a photo shoot before and naturally don't know which poses are good and come across well in the photos. It's always good to look at some other photos before the shoot to get an idea of what might look good. During the shoot, we will definitely help you to find the right pose.
